we are looking for you as a(n) Manager, Customs and Trade Compliance.

Essential Functions

  • Export Control- Management of execution of export control process: Ensuring that all relevant employees have a valid training qualification according Export Control training concept (available GLOBE page Export Control). Managing ongoing reviews and audits. Management of reporting and single point of contact to authorities like B.I.S. or OFAC, ensuring that preconditions set by authorities are fulfilled. Ensures that product classification (for WACKER products as well as non-production material) is performed in case of export or shipment. Responsibility for sanctions list screening process USA. Provides direction and expertise on the implementation of cost-effective solutions required by the company. Develops and ensures implementation of policies and procedures regarding all things related to Trade Compliance and ensures adherence to them.
  • Export Control- Management of and close cooperation with WGER Export Compliance Manager, WGER Corporate Coordinator, WCC/WPNA Supply Chain/ site logistics and WCC Corporate Logistics Import/Export team in order to manage production of quarterly WCC/WPNA Export Control reporting to WGER Export Compliance Manager, monitoring and reporting to WCC Exec mgmt. as well as to WGER Export Compliance Manager in case of a non-compliance. Informs supply chain and site logistics if certain orders/shipments should be blocked until Export Compliance is guaranteed. Provides updates on regulation and law changes.
  • Customs Compliance- international coordinator: Assist in developing the International Customs Committee that will secure and coordinate adequate processes and procedures that support safe, consistent, and efficient compliance with relevant and applicable law as well as good governance in the respective area. This system should ensure an appropriate record keeping system, support advising and managing interpretation of relevant and applicable group-wide international, supra-national and national law and relevant amendments thereof, reporting of objectives and control KPI's, support reviews and audits, etc.
  • Customs Compliance- The regional responsible person will be appointed as a permanent member of the International Customs Committee (ICC). The Customs & Trade Compliance Manager will manage the regional requirements to build up a central German database to ensure that all WCC/WPNA SC teams, site logistics and Corporate Logistics import/export teams receive up-to-date data related to customs activities to establish an analysis and a risk assessment and risk management approach for processes
  • Government Relations Support: from time-to-time, or as needed, the Customs & Trade Compliance Manager will support WCC's Sr. Management in projects/assignments involving local/state government relations
  • Lead and mentor team members, develop talent and bench strength.

Qualifications Required:

  • CTPAT Security Compliance - Knowledge of CTPAT Best Practices, Threat Awareness and Minimum-Security Criteria Import Entry experience required.
  • Customs, Import & Export Logistics Regulatory Compliance - Knowledge of CBP Regulations i.e., 19 CFR, USMCA, Import and Export Compliance, knowledge and experience in Foreign Trade Zones, the HTSUS, etc., SAP experience required.
  • Specialized Logistics Projects - international freight forwarding & logistics, intermodal transportation, warehousing, seaports, supply chain mapping and airfreight, logistics studies experience required.
  • Government Affairs - Experience in networking with government officials reading and interpreting Federal, State and local laws, statutes and directives.
  • Computer proficiency including spreadsheet software, SAP, Business Warehouse.
  • Critical thinking and time management skills.
  • Prior management experience.
