Job Description
Position: Machine Maintenance Supervisor – 3rd Shift
Position Duties:
Work Order Management: Supervise work order scheduling and plan maintenance team activities to achieve objectives with minimal impact on production.
Problem Resolution: Address issues related to machinery malfunctions, safety hazards, and facility repairs to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Team Supervision: Instruct, evaluate, and discipline subordinate maintenance staff. Collaborate with maintenance management and other shifts to coordinate departmental activities.
Documentation and Reporting: Ensure proper and timely maintenance documentation and reporting distribution. Interact professionally with all departments as required.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve production problems, emphasizing downtime reduction.
Materials Management: Identify and request materials necessary for maintenance operations.
Process Monitoring: Monitor maintenance operation processes and procedures, eliminating nonconformities promptly. Report inconsistencies to management.
Training and Development: Train and develop existing and new employees. Supervise the implementation of new processes and procedures.
Health and Safety: Demonstrate a proper attitude towards health and safety, actively participate in Safety Committee initiatives, and serve as an emergency first responder team member.
Work Order Handling: Ensure proper handling of maintenance work orders, reports, and other paperwork.
Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Maintenance Knowledge: Familiarity with facilities and equipment maintenance, repair purchasing, OSHA and safety regulations, HACCP regulations, HazMat, Lockout/Tagout, and USDA standards. Experience in food manufacturing, preferably in the poultry industry, is advantageous.
Mechanical Proficiency: Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with skills in refrigeration, building systems, electricity, welding, and equipment repair.
Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints and schematics; working knowledge of basic mathematics.
People Management: Demonstrated abilities in managing people effectively.
Prioritization: Ability to evaluate and prioritize departmental needs.
Communication: Effective communication with various individuals and situations, conflict resolution skills.
Computer Proficiency: Working knowledge of computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
