Assembly Supervisor

Job Summary

The Assembly supervisor is responsible for managing the team and work flow in the Assembly area to ensure orders are processed within time allotted while paying close attention to quality.

 Responsibilities

• Set goals for performance and quality while complying with product deadlines.
• Organize workflow and ensure team members understand their duties and delegated tasks.
• Monitor production workflow and resolve issues as they arise.
• Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to quality standards and per customer order.
• Create and implement standardized procedures (SOPS’s) to manage detailed parameters & improve efficiency of workforce.
• Involve plant and corporate management to develop practices and procedures that promote the product, manufacturing process, and quality.
• Collaborate with Quality, Research and Development, Purchasing, Operations, and Process Development to resolve issues.
• Apply analytical and statistical techniques to problem-solving and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provide employee coaching, training, and development.
• Oversee performance management and implementing discipline as needed in coordination with HR.
• Direct and lead team in keeping work area organized and clean following 6S principles.
• Lead by example in work ethic, innovation, and positive attitude.
• Communicate to management and recommend Assembly area quality or production efficiency ideas for improvement.
• Display by example safe working practices and enforce working safely in compliance with safety rules.
• Communicate and promote company policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years working in cabinet or furniture preferred.
• Woodworking experience is required
• Experience working in Microsoft Office applications and ERP system
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leaderships skills
• 5+ years supervisory experience, preferably in wood related product
• Experience with hand tools and power tools
• Availability to work overtime when required
