Job Description

As Electronic Assembler you would be responsible for assembling PCBA’s (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) that contain electrical circuitry made up of embedded metal surfaces. Components are soldered to the board which are connected to the board circuitry. Your primary duties are to assemble electronic parts, such as circuit boards, mount them into larger assemblies or casing, ensuring the proper soldering and installation of electric within, and test or troubleshoot equipment. This requires the utilization of various hand tools and equipment to perform duties. An Electronic Assembler must adhere to safety precautions during operations to prevent electrical hazards in the workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand written product processes/procedures for proper assembling of PCB’s.
  • Effective and correct use of soldering iron and other general purpose hand tools used in PCB assembly.
  • Identify electronic components including values of resistors and capacitors (color code or number code), polarity of capacitors, indexing for various IC packages, etc.….
  • Read, understand, and accurately follow drawings, prints and other reference documentation.
  • Mechanically attach PCBA’s to brackets, lid, or case as required.
  • Wire input and output signals from PCBA’s to terminals strips or connectors as specified by reference documentation.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition by performing daily organization and cleanup of work area.
  • Other duties as required/assigned as processes improve, product lines are added, product volumes increase/decrease or business needs dictate.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Assemble electronic PCBAs.
  • Prepping and hand stuffing thru-holes for wave solder.
  • Post wave solder inspection/rework, hand soldering components, prepping cables/wires, soldering wires.
  • Enclosure Assembly, prepping PCBAs for Conformal Coating Spray, etc....
  • View, inspect, and use production models as an aid to assembly.
  • Position and align parts in specified arraignments in a jig, fixture, or other holding device.
  • Operate and maintain automated assembly equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, or other machines to crimp, stake, screw, bolt, solder, cement, or by other means secure parts in place in product assembly.
  • Perform other assembly processes, including potting, encapsulating, coating, gluing, cleaning, sanding, engraving, and color coding of parts and assemblies.
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to Production Supervisor
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma, or GED
  • Associate degree or certifications relating to electrical assembly a plus.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with soldering, preferably both Thru-hole and Surface Mount parts.
  • Soldering: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Experience reading electrical blueprints.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and a high degree of precision in executing assigned tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Abel to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to manage repetitive motions.
  • Heavy lifting – usually not more than 50 lbs.
  • Color Vision is required.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Rate: $15.00 - $20.00 based on experience or certification.
  • After 90 days, may be eligible for a pay increase based on performance.

  • Monday - Friday
  • Flexible schedule:
  • 8-hour shifts:
    • 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
    • 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
    • 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
