Job Description

As Senior Engineer, Outside Plant Construction Management, your responsibilities are to oversee timely issuance of material orders, oversee shipments, expedite, and report material ordering statuses, material transportation, receipt, and protection (garaging) of Brightspeed inventory staged at or near the build area. Youwill develop and maintain processes and detailed reporting to support and validate all materials that have been ordered were delivered per the IQGEO BOM.In addition to these responsibilities, the incumbent will track and approve all IQGEO invoicing as construction closeout tickets are reviewed and approved for payment by the local engineering team. Your role is to provide an end-to-end seamless materials oversight function to enable Brightspeed to meet or exceed our FTTH build schedule targets.

This position will report to the regional Senior Manager, OSP Engineering and requires knowledge of outside plant network construction as well as supply chain ordering, shipping, receiving and validation processes. You will work closely with the local design team, our inventory planning team, and our construction partners to ensure the FTTP build projects stay on track.In this role, you will work with engineers, sourcing and supply chain, logistics and our construction partners to ensure material orders are accurate and timely and material is delivered on-time and protected to avoid costly delays to the construction build process.

In addition, as the Senior Engineer Outside Plant Construction Management, you will need to maintain a forward-looking posture and partner with our Supply Chain team and with our Inventory Management and Logistics partner to provide a strategic view. The role may also include coordination of related projects such as Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) opportunities to ensure we meet business goals.

AsSenior Engineer, Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Management, your duties will include:

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor's degree or 5-8 years of directly related work experience
  • Experience with outside plant (OSP) engineering and construction processes and specifically material oversight processes required to stage large OSP projects involving the placing of aerial, underground and buried telecommunications facilities
  • Experience managing large multi-state projects
  • Experience with working with municipalities and utility partners
  • Experience managing larger regional infrastructure services vendors
  • Leading and executing multiple, simultaneous business transformation and process changes
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain, logistics and invoicing processes
  • Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills
  • Innovative, strategic thinker and decision maker
  • Strong problem solving and execution skills in driving transformation and change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time
  • Ability to work in outside plant conditions
