MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 5 years' experience of knowledge of inventory control and organizational skills
  • Must demonstrate 2 years of experience in Microsoft Excel to develop, modify, and use to manage and track the storage and transfer of equipment and materials to support this program data entry (Excel),
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, walk long distances, climb inclines, ladders and stairs, and push/pull pallet jacks and/or rolling carts
  • Degree or experience in lieu of degree
  • Travel is not required
  • On-site 5 days a week

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Organizational Skills - Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, receive material and place into Conex Box in the optimal storage locations for accessibility
  • Experience with C4I systems or combat systems is desired
  • Experience with shipyard logistics and processes

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives incoming material
  • Organizes material in conex
  • Processes issue and shipping documents
  • Maintains and tracks material and part requirements to ensure continued support of deployed systems and/or products
  • Maintains inventory required by engineering drawings
  • Coordinates with production for restocking of any unused material
  • Provides information for the tracking and storage of government furnished equipment
  • Provides status accounting to the customer and assures that material is on hand prior to work being accomplished
  • Performs a variety of routine and/or low dollar value buying/purchasing tasks involving materials, supplies, or services
  • Reviews purchase requisitions, and places orders with approved suppliers
  • Coordinates with the Accounting department as required to resolve questions on suppliers' invoices
  • Reports any discrepancies
  • Performs monthly cycle counts
  • Performs logistical duties, Material Handler may assist production, within reason and knowledge skill set, when requested on the ship
  • Works within a shipyard environment that consists of loud noises, fumes, and high/low temperatures
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times when working within designated areas
