Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all policies and procedures to keep the children healthy and safe are being implemented.
  • Create activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration and problem solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children.
  • Assist and supervise children during all activities.
  • Prepare and implement classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
  • Interact with parents and maintain open communication to encourage family engagement
  • Collaborate with other passionate teachers to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Intervene when needed to maintain safety, while respecting children’s interests.
  • Encourage and model social behavior and expectations that are developmentally appropriate.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Assistant Teacher must have a High School Diploma or higher.
  • Lead Teachers must have:
    • Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education OR related degree
    • 30 semester hours from an accredited college/university
    • Experience in a recreational program or licensed daycare center serving school-age children
