Requirements (Only one requirement is necessary)
- Must be at least 18 years old ** Mandatory **
- A Child Development Associates (CDA)
- Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education OR related degree
- (i.e. psychology courses related to childhood, and/or 6 semester hours in courses related directly to childcare)
- 30 semester hours from an accredited college/university
- 1 year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed daycare center.
- Experience in a recreational program or licensed daycare center serving school-age children
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure all policies and procedures to keep the children healthy and safe are being implemented.
- Create activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration and problem solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children.
- Assist and supervise children during all activities.
- Prepare and implement classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
- Interact with parents and maintain open communication to encourage family engagement
- Collaborate with other passionate teachers to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Intervene when needed to maintain safety, while respecting children’s interests.
- Encourage and model social behavior and expectations that are developmentally appropriate.
