Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dredge Operator to join our team. As a Dredge Operator at Vulcan Materials Company, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dredge equipment to extract sand and gravel from water sources. This role plays a crucial part in our aggregate production process, contributing to the construction of vital infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain dredge equipment to extract sand and gravel from water sources in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment controls to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on dredge equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate dredging activities and ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and participate in safety meetings to promote a culture of safety and awareness.
  • Maintain accurate records of dredging activities, including production levels and equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot and address equipment malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Comply with environmental regulations and company policies to protect natural resources and ecosystems.
  • Work in collaboration with maintenance teams to address equipment repairs and improvements.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and stay updated on industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Dredge Operator or similar role.
  • Knowledge of dredge equipment operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of safety and environmental regulations related to dredging operations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience operating dredge equipment is highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications or training in dredge operations is a plus.
