About the Team
Our medical department is dedicated to helping our clients improve their lives through a coordinated approach to care involving clients, their caregivers, their clinical staff, and primary care providers which we provide in-house. What You’ll Do
- Provide direct psychiatric services.
- Assist the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in overseeing the medical and psychiatric services provided to ensure they meet AKBH’s standard of care.
- Identify medical and psychiatric system issues and develop solutions to identified problems.
- Supervise the work of nurse practitioners, physician assistants, students, and psychiatric residents assigned for training and nursing services as assigned by the CMO.
- Assist with the development and implementation of medical/psychiatric policies.
- Consult with program units and individual therapists concerning case management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CMO and/or CEO that are in keeping with the mission, purpose, goals, and objectives of AKBH.

- There is flexibility about where the position is based. Applicants could choose Anchorage, Fairbanks, or Wasilla.
- Full-Time, Exempt
- $25,000 signing bonus (which requires a two-year employment commitment).
- Pay Range starts at $300,000
- Up to $5,000 and 40 hours for Category I CE’s.

What We Need from You
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certified is preferred but board eligible should also apply.
- A current, unrestricted license, or the ability to get a license, to practice medicine in Alaska.
- Federal DEA number.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory position is preferred.
- New grads are welcome to apply but administrative duties would be deferred initially.
- Preference will be given to child-trained psychiatrists.
