CNC - R&D CNC Swiss Specialist

Position:

As a CNC Swiss Specialist - R&D, you will report directly to the CNC Production Development Manager. You will be responsible for managing several facets of process development and R&D for Swiss CNC, as well as supporting ongoing operations in the CNC areas in our CT locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads by example and lives the AVNA Vision, Mission, Values and Strategy
  • Makes their team members and others better. Leads by example
  • Total Customer Satisfaction, both internal and external
  • Support on going production and identifying areas for improvement or cycle time initiatives. Document and execute these improvements.
  • Research and development activity where we will be developing a process and/or new technology
  • Creating/developing a CNC program for a new part on a CNC or Swiss
  • Specify and purchase tooling and machine accessories
  • Cutting a sample run of parts, and performing measurement on critical features
  • Seeks to understand all facets of a manufacturing process by working of post machining processes to provide a complete part, working along with additional R&D engineers to develop and execute post operations if required, ie. Parts finishing, cleaning, post ops, packing
  • Creates' plan(s) that allow the monitoring and understanding of success post implementation.
  • Fully Documenting prototype run and/or developmental notes. This information may be used internally or externally to develop a Production Process
  • Assist with new program launches, particularly with the development and execution of protocols, work process instructions, SIIP's and any additional technical documents
  • Resolve production issues as they are assigned

Key Attributes:

  • Experience in Swiss CNC programing and setup is required.
  • Experience in CNC programming and setup of turning and milling machines preferred.
  • Trained in Part Maker and MasterCam programming software preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills. Good communicator. Ability and willingness to hold self-accountable. Gets people working in teams; celebrates their successes. Makes people better.
  • Track record of continuous improvement and cost reductions
  • Good communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical, technical, reasoning and problem-solving skills
