Anatomic Pathology Technician - Full-time / Part-time

Our client, a research institute for applied science and technology development  is seeking a Lab Technician to join their team. This role requires extensive experience in necropsy and lab work, a commitment to safety and compliance, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment.

 Job Title: Lab Technician 

Location: Columbus, OH or West Jefferson, OH
Onsite Position

 Pay Rate: $19.87/hr.
 

What’s the Job?

Responsibilities:

• Perform animal necropsies, collecting and processing tissues
• Work with hazardous materials in BSL2/BSL3 labs
• Prepare tissue samples for histopathology
• Develop and validate necropsy procedures
• Perform calculations, equipment decontamination, and inventory management
• Operate and maintain lab equipment and software
• Document procedures, data, and quality control measures
• Follow safety protocols and train other staff
• Analyze data and report findings

What’s Needed?

Key Qualifications:

• Necropsy/pathology experience
• Animal science/zoology or related biology degree with 1 year experience (or equivalent)
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to obtain/maintain BSAP, SRA, and CDC approvals
• Willingness to work in BSL2/BSL3 environments with respiratory protection
• Willingness for immunizations, drug screening, and emergency response
• Medically fit for lab work and equipment
• Experience in pathology/clinical pathology labs preferred
