Overview:

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team at our M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital location in Minneapolis, MN.

We’re offering a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus (Flat rate / Not Prorated) for RT's with 2+ years of Neonatal / Pediatric experience who are hired at our Children's Masonic Hospital location! If you do not have the experience listed, then you can also qualify for our $7,500 Sign-On Bonus!

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician. Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies. Collects, assesses, interprets, and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments.

Schedule: This position will be working 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift. This position will also work a rotation for every third weekend. When working on the night shift, you will receive a $4.00/hr shift differential. We also offer a $2.00/hr shift differential for our weekend premium.

Responsibilities/Job Description:

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for:

Assessing patient needs and identifies expected outcomes.
Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care.
Evaluating care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes.
Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient.
Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment.
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Education
Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
License/Certification/Registration
Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Exceptions include:
New Graduates only - must complete RRT within 6 months of hire date.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
