POSITION DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. Responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and espresso beverages while providing excellent customer service. This role involves taking customer orders, operating coffee-making equipment, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and inviting environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
•    Embodies Traditions Mission, Vision, Core Values and Cultural Guidelines.
•    Take and process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Provide recommendations and information about coffee and menu items.
• Prepare a variety of coffee and espresso-based drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and macchiatos.
• Grind coffee beans and brew coffee according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
• Steam and froth milk to create creamy and well-textured beverages.
• Ensure consistent quality in every drink served.
• Operate cash registers and handle financial transactions accurately.
• Keep the workstations and equipment clean and organized.
• Perform routine maintenance on coffee-making equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Upsell additional items, such as pastries or snacks, to enhance the customer experience.
• Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands when after using the restroom, etc.)
• Review work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve service, performance and/or safety.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

NOTE:  These include, but are not limited to the following (additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary):

•    Be observant to any and all safety concerns surrounding your work area.
• Ability to answer the phones in a professional manner as trained.  
•    Following all health standards and guidelines established.
• All side stations are well maintained and stocked through your entire shift.
• Cleaning of all spills that may occur during your shift.
• Aware of any and all potentially hazardous conditions.
• Superior attendance and punctuality.
• Uniforms and/or clothing should always be on stage clean
• Always wear a safety belt when lifting objects over 20 lbs.
• Always wear slip resistant shoes.
• Provide information to supervisors/managers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
• Excellent math skills
• Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility to work morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Knowledge of InfoGenesis software

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, carries and pushes.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Lifts and carries supplies, and cases, weighing up to 50 lbs
• Essential hand/eye coordination
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior restaurant/bar/casino work environment
• Noise level is moderate to high
• Moderate or high exposure to cigarette smoke when on property.
• Limited exposure to physical risk
• Moderate physical effort required
