Responsibilities
The Heavy Equipment Operator will:
- Operate various heavy mobile equipment such as: Dozers, Front End Loaders, Excavators and Sheepsfoot
- Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record-keeping
- Move soil, rock, debris and level ground
- Maintain work area to allow safe movement and access
- Monitor any change in machine performance to identify potential malfunctions and report issues to the maintenance department
- Perform daily machine inspection and routine greasing, oiling, and fueling
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Eight years of experience operating a dozer, end loader, excavator, and other specialized mobile equipment
- Knowledge of bulk materials and basic knowledge of grade checking equipment (i.e. laser, levels)
- A team and safety-oriented mentality
- Ability to work at elevated heights
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, work outside in various temperatures, walk, sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Basic Mechanical aptitude
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be willing to travel
