GIS TECHNICIAN

Loudoun Water is a public utility headquartered in Ashburn that provides water, wastewater and reclaimed service to more than 175,000 customers in eastern Loudoun County, Virginia. We have an immediate opening for a full-time junior GIS Technician in the Technology Services division. The selected individual will have a mix of technical, business analyst and problem-solving skills, capable of working independently and with a small team. Typical duties include maintaining GIS databases, performing data QA/QC, creating apps using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS and ad-hoc cartographic/spatial analyses. Requirements: Demonstrated experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS platform is required, including experience managing spatial data, performing spatial analyses, and creating automated geo processes. The selected individual will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to deliver excellent customer service. Desired skills/experience include: web service, server and database configuration and management; water/reclaimed/wastewater engineering; Microsoft Azure/SQL Server; and SAP. Undergraduate degree in geography, computer science, and/or related discipline with at least one year of professional experience is required. An advanced degree and GISP certification are desired.
