Our client practice is looking for an experienced Finance Director to join their administration's leadership team. In this role, you will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and Board of Directors and will direct and coordinate all aspects of claims processing and billing, government and commercial payer reimbursement and contracting, patient collections, coding, and compliance. As the Finance Director, you will play a multifaceted and crucial role in combining your financial expertise and strategic vision for the economic health and sustainability of the practice.

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Develop and maintain the accounting systems for the practice that ensure timely and accurate data reporting via internal reports and to external entities that require such data.
  • Develop and monitor revenue cycle key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement processes to improve billing, claims, and collections workflows.
  • Ensures that all refunds are processed accurately and timely through monthly review of the outstanding unapplied credit report (in conjunction with the Business Office Manager). Completes quarterly submission to the State of North Carolina for unclaimed refund as per statute.
  • Supervise the internal process audit program to ensure that all financial controls are regularly tested and discrepancies are reported to the Chief Administrative Officer.
  • Set department goals to reduce days in Accounts Receivable and uncollectible accounts.
  • Develop and track the annual budget for the clinic as well as formulate departmental budgets with each department.
  • Works with the Chief Administrative Officer to evaluate programs and proposed expenditures for fiscal appropriateness and profitability.
  • Supervises assigned departments, providing organization, scheduling, and direction in compliance with WIMC's policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Perform staff appraisals in cooperation with the assigned department supervisors, recommending merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Prepares monthly reports for the Executive Committee and Board of Directors that reflect the clinic's financial performance.
  • Assist the Chief Administrative Officer in developing strategic initiatives and providing financial impact forecasting and analysis.
  • Attendance and presentation at all Board of Directors and Shareholders meetings for WIMC.

SKILLS

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting systems by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Manage staff effectively, clearly communicating company policies, requirements, goals, and objectives through verbal and written means.
  • Knowledge of office equipment and computer systems in the areas supervised.
  • Demonstrate initiative and exercise independent judgment in the assimilation and preparation of data relevant to the company's performance.
  • Superior skills in identifying and solving problems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, physicians, patients, and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance.
  • 5-10 years of healthcare management experience in financial and accounting management, preferably in a private practice setting.
  • CPA preferred
