Chemical Dependency Counselor

Provide substance abuse counseling and relapse prevention support to clients. Make referrals for other mental health services and community resources, to ensure an appropriate level of care.

Serve as an advocate for patients (with courts, schools, treatment centers, and other services) as appropriate and conduct follow-ups.

Facilitate/co-facilitates therapy groups as assigned. Prepare written reports, regular case dictation and summaries for consultation according to program standards and professional ethics. Participate in curriculum development and supervision of clients. Work as part of a treatment team to coordinate care.

Intervenes in crises as needed.
