Howmet Aerospace Structures Segment - Raw Materials Procurement Interns
The Howmet Aerospace Summer Procurement Intern position will be in Cleveland OH. This internship is designed for a student interested in gaining experience in Procurement in a global multi-location corporation. The Raw Materials Procurement team is part of the Howmet Structures Segment Procurement organization responsible for utilizing the strategic sourcing process to negotiate Howmet's Structures Raw Materials purchases. We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our team as a Summer Intern. This position will assist in Raw Materials Procurement within the Howmet Structures Segment. The internship is paid, working 40 hours a week, and is approximately 12 weeks.
Position Description
In the role, the interns will be responsible in providing analytical and sourcing support to the organization. Primary sourcing responsibilities will be the preparation, submission, and analysis of Requests for Proposals. The interns will co-lead one or more sourcing projects, develop strategy, collect, validate spend data - run queries on Oracle database, provide analysis for sourcing projects., and will prepare and conduct supplier negotiations. The interns will be expected to update purchase documents and transactional flow paths with correct pricing resulting from sourcing/commercial facing activities. The interns will engage in market intelligence research for the selected category in support of upcoming negotiations or other commercial improvement efforts. The interns will be expected to identify relevant market or supplier trends for incorporation into associated commercial plans. Other special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Rising student in good standing and currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, majoring in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration with emphasis in Supply Chain Management or Procurement from an accredited institution.
- Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
- GPA of 3.2 or above
- Exceptionally strong financial/analytical skills.
- Must be involved in at least 1 extracurricular activity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work in virtual teams and build consensus
- Collaborative work ethic, able to work well with team members.
- Interns must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant internship/work/research experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of SAP programming.
- Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) proficiency.
- Microsoft Power BI, or similar, competency.
