Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform the following production tasks in the dry food packaging area as requested by food contract supervisors: case packer, case sealer, case former, palletizer, and waste handler
  • Packs product into the appropriate case in accordance with procedures and work instructions
  • Inspects product coming off the line for quality
  • Operate the assigned machine according to procedures and work instructions to meet production schedule
  • Inspects cases for quality
  • Remove flat case pallet, forms case, tucks in bottom flaps and stacks empty cases for case packer in accordance with procedures and work instructions
  • Removes cases from the production line and stacks them on a pallet in accordance with procedures and work instructions
  • Remove waste product and trash from work areas in accordance with procedures and work instructions
  • Operates the trash and corrugated compacting machines
  • Place waste in proper containers
  • Use pallet jacks and hand trucks to move waste containers
  • Keep waste containers clean and assist sanitation technician with cleaning function
  • Must report any illness, open lesion or abnormal source of microbial contamination that could contaminate food, food contact surfaces or food packaging materials
  • Attendance and a physical presence at work is an essential function of this position as this job, cannot be performed remotely
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Education, Qualifications and Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year preferred in production/assembly line

The incumbent is required to regularly talk or hear while fulfilling the duties of the job. The incumbent may have to lift up to 60 pounds on occasion and push and or pull carts up to 70 pounds.

The noise level in the environment can be loud depending on what kitchen machinery is in use.
