**Description**

**Position Purpose:**

Responsible for providing an excellent celebrity-style restaurant dining experience through preparing menu offerings and delivering exceptional service by paying close attention to guests orders/special orders and cooking/preparing food as specified to deliver professional, quality and timely food service to guests. As a Celebrity Grill Line Cook at Hollywood Casino, you will prep and prepare menu items served in the Celebrity Grill steakhouse. You will provide restaurant style meal service to casino guests and ensure the highest level of food preparation and customer satisfaction possible. You will communicate and coordinate with fellow cooks to accommodate food demands and present orders to servers for delivery as required and requested. You will adhere to our RED CARPET customer service expectations when interacting with casino guests and employees.

**Essential Functions and Responsibilities:**

* Provide fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to culinary team members and Celebrity Grill guests. Greet and welcome each guest approaching your station

* Maintain current and accurate information regarding food items (i.e., preparation techniques, seasonings, ingredients)

* Prepare food items per guest order as required including, but not limited to, entrees and desserts per guest orders

* Employ proper cooking methods and cook food to specifications and proper temperatures

* Handle, store and rotate food properly in accordance with established health and safety standards

* Slice, dice, chop and prepare raw food products

* Carve meats, portion food on serving plates, add gravies and sauces, and garnish plates as required

* Sanitize counter areas, sinks and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station

* Maintain cleanliness of designated areas as directed and in accordance with established health and safety standards

* Maintains par levels of operating supplies and food products for each workstation obtaining replacement stock from warehouse inventory in accordance with procedure

* Operate and maintain all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures

* Provide personalized service and uses guests names when possible

* Attend meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required

* Comply with all food and beverage regulations and food industry service standards

**Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:**

* Requires social, personable, friendly and enthusiastic character traits

* Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills

* Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment

* Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques

* Knowledge of weights, measures and recipe yield

* Skill in speaking with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds

* Strong work ethic someone who takes great pride in professionalism, responsibility, and is proactive

* Must be able to work independently and as a team member

* Ability to count money and change correctly

* Know or be able to learn Celebrity Grill menu items and ingredients

* Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues

* Requires the ability to handle different challenges each day and adequately prioritize those demands

* Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

**Education and Experience Requirements:**

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Must be 21 years of age

* A minimum of one (1) year prior experience as a cook in a high volume food service operation

* Must be familiar with all phases of food preparation and production methods

* Must be able to tolerate industry standard chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing

* Excellent customer service/communication skills including the ability to read, write, understand and speak English

* Must meet and maintain professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy

**Physical Demands and Work Environment:**

* The primary work environment is the Celebrity Grill restaurant on the casino land side

* Must be physically mobile with the ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs.

* Must be able to stand for long periods of time throughout the duration of the shift, stand for up to 8 hours at a time and work in constricting areas

* Regularly exposed to heat, fumes, fire, food, food extracts and food particles

* Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, climb stairs, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas including confined spaces
