Requirements:

Minimum Bachelors degree at an accredited college or university

Completion of a Masters degree at an accredited college preferred

Minimum four years of directly related experience including two years in a manager capacity

Experience in strategic planning and execution

Experience in formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures

Knowledge of procurement methods and procedures of a large scale centralized purchasing function including buying, quality assurance, contract negotiation and administration, and change management

Knowledge of commodity markets and price trends

Knowledge of various grades, qualities and varieties of steel and their related manufacturing processes

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (as related to procurement procedures), inventory and production control principles

Overall Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and long term vision to the Sales and Procurement Department to ensure its future relevance, credibility and viability

Oversee Sales and Procurement operations to ensure efficiency, quality, customer service and cost-effective management of resources

Oversee the purchase, control and expediting of steel material from domestic and international suppliers at the optimum price, quality and delivery

Oversee supplier performance measurement and coordinate appropriate countermeasure action as required

Oversee the development and validation of new suppliers/materials

Oversee negotiations and compilations of purchasing contracts as required

Oversee and provide leadership and support to assigned personnel in the administration of their duties and responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities:

Develop a strategic plan to advance the companys Sales and Procurement objectives to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization

Review and evaluate progress of operational procedures, policies and standards for attainment of objectives and performance goals

Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions

Plan, develop and implement sourcing strategies relative to steel purchases

Seek out opportunities to improve Sales and Procurement operations by integrating with other departments on various projects and programs to promote functioning as a strong, cohesive operation

Contribute as a Department Head to efforts to realign all business processes and reinforce organizational structure to ensure the effectiveness of major programs and initiatives by focusing energies and operations to achieve agreed upon objectives
