Job Type Full-time Education High School / GED Travel None Security Clearance Required None Job Description ****POSITION SUMMARY:** Operate Company owned and leased trucks and buses to facilitate shipping and receiving operations and transporting of employees. Perform various warehouse duties including loading and unloading of materials and/or equipment.**

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:** Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, your duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

* Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

* Comply with Company, federal, state, and local safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations and policies while performing duties.

* Transport raw materials and finished goods various distances over land from one shipyard location to another or to/from retail/distribution center.

* Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation inspections and complete all required documentation.

* Report defects, accidents or violations.

* Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, and break periods, etc.) as well as with Company policies and procedures.

* Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including drivers logs, mileage records, and other records required by law and Company policy and procedures.

* Ensure all administrative paperwork concerning delivery of materials/equipment accompanies the delivery.

* Operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner.

* Perform inventory and property control duties.

* Receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment and products within the Company.

* Work with minimal supervision.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements **REQUIREMENTS**

**Experience:** Three to five years commercial driving experience required. One or more years shipping and receiving with forklift experience desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

**Skills:** Ability to read and comprehend written, verbal, and diagram plans. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and employees. Knowledge of safe operation and use of hand and power tools. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather.

Maintain the confidential integrity of details pertaining to Eastern Shipbuilding Group. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Possess and maintain a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A with Hazmat and Passenger Endorsements; current Dept. of Transportation (DOT) physical. Requires good driving record which allows placement on Company insurance.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. his position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be physically and medically qualified to wear all required personal protective equipment, as prescribed under Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. The employee must be able to work above ground at heights of a minimum of 50 feet aloft and/or working from scaffolding and/or man-lifts while working with machinery; in confined spaces and withstand extreme heat and cold in an outside climate or confined space.

The employee may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, continual loud noise, and other hazards found in a heavy industrial shipyard environment.
