About this job

About the Summer Internship:

Have you always been curious about what influences people and the decisions they make? Do you love a good mystery? Feel compelled to seek out the true meaning of things?

If so, an internship at Ipsos provides a unique opportunity for anyone interested in a career in market research to work with a team of passionate problem-solvers dedicated to bringing research insights and compelling data to life.

What you can expect to be doing:

We are looking to hire a Risk Analytics Intern with a curious mindset and aptitude for tackling subjects and tasks with open-ended outcomes. The candidate will be expected to do independent desk research, work with generative AI, maintain complex databases, and author synthetic analytic reports. The taskings will involve a mix of independent work as well as working very closely with multiple team members with diverse skillsets to deliver integrated products. We seek expertise in climate and national security, as well as language skills in addition to fluency in English (in particular, Arabic, Chinese, French and Spanish)

A great candidate will be a self-starter with strong work ethic, flexibility to adapt to shifting requirements and work patterns, and propensity to work within high op tempo conditions.

What you can expect to be doing:

  • Identify relevant data and research sources
  • Conduct primary research in languages other than English (e.g. Arabic, French, Swahili, and/or Spanish)
  • Extract data, clean data, and ingest data into complex databases
  • Fuse data into final products
  • Author concise analytic reports and present findings - in particular, the why and so what, to team members

This might be the job for you if you have:

  • Currently pursuing or having recently completed a BA or MA
  • Experience conducting independent research, particularly on climate resilience, international affairs, econometrics and/or geospatial analysis with a focus on national security
  • Experience building databases
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of open-source research methods to identify emerging trends and key issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as part of a team and to meet deadlines
  • Experience working within diverse teams, including members with data science, software engineering, and/or geospatial analysis skillsets
  • Excellent analysis, writing, and briefing skills
  • Skills in foreign-language research are strongly desired. Target languages include Arabic, French, Spanish, and Chinese. Other languages are desired, as well.

The hourly rate for this role is $25.00. Your final base rate will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.

At Ipsos you'll experience opportunities for Career Development, a flexible workplace policy, and a strong collaborative culture.
