Job Description:

The Regional Field Operations Manager is part of our Design Build business at Dewberry. You will work with experienced project managers on complex, multi-million dollar electrical and controls construction projects throughout our working community. Must be a U.S. citizen with an ability to obtain a security clearance. Will travel to customer sites as required by the project, may travel up to 50% or more at times.

Under general direction, responsible for the profitable execution of assigned Projects. The ideal candidate will have trade experience working as an Electrician, and some experience as a Controls Technician with startup experience. Ensures that assigned projects are done accurately, on-time, within budget and within scope of the contract. Ensures work performed is following state, local and Federal legal requirements and operates on the job with the highest of ethics. In cooperation with Safety, ensures staff and subcontractors work in a safe manner. Responsible for following consistent and repeatable project management procedures and processes, documenting these as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the primary on-site leader for the electrical and controls teams on assigned projects. Helps to develop detailed project schedules and implements according to plan for assigned projects.
  • Manages risks and establishes project recovery plans when required. Resolves disputes with minimal need for critical issues.
  • Helps manage subcontracts of work that has effect on electrical and/or controls work.
  • Ability to complete and perform material and equipment take off needs to prepare project orders as needed.
  • Ensures project document controls are following and in compliance with contract requirements and Dewberry standards.
  • Oversees project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes, installation techniques, and client requirements.
  • Manages the ordering and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned.
  • Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors and subcontractors. Attends job progress meetings as required. Ensures subcontractors understand expectations of the project.
  • Ensures any work performed by the field team is in accordance with established standards.
  • Basic networking skills, including setup and troubleshooting.
  • Management of projects related to Electrical, Controls, Telecommunications (Fiber ad Copper), New and Retrofit Work. Could involve HVAC and other related control work.
  • Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
  • Proficient in Project Management software or the ability to be proficient in Procore.
  • Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project), Bluebeam, and basic Windows environment.
  • Travel will vary on project assignment. Projects may exist outside of assigned geography or region.
  • Able to complete multiple contractor and multiple scopes of work simultaneously.
  • Ability to review project drawings along with finding issues and/or discrepancies between
  • Experience in dealing with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of many different subject areas.


Required Skills & Required Experience:
  • Experience is required, a degree in a related area along with holding a Master Electrical License is a bonus.
  • Minimum of Ten years of direct experience in construction and the related fields.
  • Basic networking skills, including setup and troubleshooting.
  • Management experience with projects related to Electrical or Mechanical New Work or Retrofits, HVAC controls, and BAS management is desired.
  • Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform a project drawing page turn to find and correct inconsistencies between the project trades and drawing sheets.
  • Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
  • Proficient in Project Management software or the ability to be proficient in Procore.
  • Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project), Bluebeam Visio and basic Windows environment.
  • Travel will vary on project assignment. Projects may exist outside of the assigned geography or region.
  • Able to complete multiple contractor and scopes of work simultaneously.
  • Experience in dealing with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of many different subject areas.
  • Must be a US Citizen (not a dual citizen) and able to obtain a federal security clearance. Preference given to anyone currently holding a clearance.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for 4 hours, and able to walk 2 miles.

Work location: Based out of VA with 50% travel or more.
