GENERAL FUNCTION:

We're looking for engineers to bring fresh ideas to the table to assist us in providing best in class digital products for our end customers, ultimately making banking a fifth third better! Responsible for implementing new features and enabling capabilities using modern information technology engineering tools and practices.

The Principal AWS Cloud Engineer role will be pivotal in defining and implementing best practices based secure architecture within our public cloud environment. The ideal candidate has experience in modern cloud practices ranging from micro services based architectures, cloud infrastructure services, guardrails, and identity. This role requires innovative architecture design and implementation experience to ensure success in our transformational journey.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Hands-on role, providing technical leadership, responsible for the realization of public cloud strategy including defining and implementing new solutions and features.

* Responsible for the delivery of technical cloud strategies at scale. Leveraging Python andGoLangcode base, promoting infrastructure as code to accelerate our cloud program.

* Build cloud-native services to support application teams and contribute to the development of cloud infrastructure automation.

* Support application teams in leveraging cloud products and services, enhancing internal customer experiences.

* Create and maintain technical documentation for the team to reference and share with our internal customers

* Provide technical support to regulatory agencies, external auditors, and internal auditors, as required, to respond to audits and examinations of the Bank's control environment.

*Mentor and develop the skills of junior team members through coaching and training.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable with 8+ years of relevant experience

* Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following coding languages: Python, JavaScript orGoLang

* Experience with AWS organizations andpolicy guardrails (SCP, AWS Config)

* Demonstrated understanding of Infrastructure as Code best practices and strong experience with building complex Terraform modules and CloudFormation stacks for AWS cloud.

* Experience with RESTful APIs and scripting

* Basic knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies

* Experience with Git,AWS serverless technologies,containerized workloadsand Jenkins orchestration is a plus

* Experience deploying production applications into cloud environments, AWS certification(s) is required

* Financial industry experience is a plus.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
