Estimator

Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Paving and Concrete Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for paving and concrete projects, with the ability to accurately assess project requirements, analyze costs, and provide competitive bids. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with a talented team of professionals in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Evaluation: Assess project specifications, blueprints, and site conditions to determine material and labor requirements for paving and concrete projects.

2. Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis, including material costs, labor costs, equipment expenses, and overhead, to accurately estimate project budgets.

3. Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bids and proposals based on project requirements, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.

4. Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and quotes for materials and services, negotiating favorable terms when possible.

5. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and ensure project success.

6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bids, and correspondence for reference and documentation purposes.

7. System: Estimating within our proprietary estimating software (similar to Bid-To-Win and Heavy Bid)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to perform detailed cost analysis.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Familiarity with construction software and estimating tools.
• Ability to do field measurements and attend on-the-job project meetings.
