Welder Fabricator

Job Description:

We are seeking a Metal Fabricator to become an integral part of our team! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of metal fabrication experience and a strong understanding of welding, metalwork, and metal fabrication shop machinery and tools. Candidate must exhibit strong teamwork and communication skills. Reliable attendance and punctuality are critical.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate custom metal products
• Follow drawings to meet product specifications
• Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
• Fit and clamp assemblies in preparation for welding
• Proficiency in using and reading 1/8", 1/16", and 1/32" gradations on a tape measure
• Ensure the quality and integrity of fabricated products
• Prioritize safety measures and follow all safety guidelines and procedures
• Willingness to assist in various shop tasks as needed

​Qualifications:

• Previous experience in welding required
• Experience with welding tools, machines and procedures
• Experience with engineering drawings
• Ability to handle physical workload (lifting up to 50 lbs)

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of and familiar with all current fabrication processes used in the company. This includes cutting steel with bandsaw, angle grinder, plasma torch, etc.; shearing and punching with the ironworker; rolling sheet metal with roller; bending sheet metal with press brake; welding mild and occasionally stainless steel with MIG and TIG processes.

Must be able to read and understand cut lists, drawings and specifications with an eye for accuracy. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Applicant must be aware of OSHA guidelines, able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Help company maintain compliance with these guidelines.

Provide feedback to design department to facilitate the development and maintenance of accurate, highly effective working models, drawing packages, and assembly packages.
