DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Technician, you will be analyzing and interpreting accounting records and methods to input a variety of accounting transactions into the computer accounting program. You will have the opportunity to assist in the process of moving to a new general bookkeeping ledger and computer application, as well as participate in the determination of division of the cost of overhead between cost centers. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Completing payroll, including salary and fringe, processing, and allocations
  • Performing monthly reconciliations as assigned
  • Compiling monthly expense and revenue allocations
  • Assisting with preparation of agency audits
  • Maintaining departmental budget to expense spreadsheets
  • Preparing agency invoices and vouchers and reviewing for mathematical accuracy and accurate reflection of contracted amounts for services reimbursed
  • Coding expenses to cost centers in preparation of the weekly agency accounts payable process
  • Assisting the Fiscal Officer with the completion of the quarterly and annual reports for Behavioral Health, Intellectual Disabilities, and Early Intervention

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Pike, Monroe, Susquehanna, Lackawanna, or Wayne counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
