Material Handler

SUMMARY: Support a safe facility and production by keeping materials stored safely and supplies in stock and ready to use when needed. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to: load, unload and move materials to and from work centers and/or staging locations.

WAGE TYPE: Hourly Non-Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete appropriate and necessary paperwork to ensure materials are checked in, unloaded and accounted for
• Ensure production areas are kept in stock with the proper materials
• Safely operate a fork truck to lift, move and deliver supplies and materials to the appropriate area on time
• Identify damages to products and equipment
• Assist with other production needs as needed
• Follow all safety protocol and wear all required PPE
• Report shortages, safety concerns and any quality deficiencies
• Transport raw material to production workstations and keep production floor organized

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

• Reports to: Shift Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and/or Experience Expected:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D required
• Must pass ATEK Fork Truck Training to become a Certified Fork Truck Operator
• Must pass ATEK Material Handler Training to become a certified Material Handler
• Must pass ATEK Functional Job Analysis and Pre- Employment Drug Screen for Material Handler position

Preferred:

• Prior manufacturing experience is preferred
• National Career Readiness Certificate is preferred
• Sense of urgency to ensure production areas do not run out of materials

Communication Skills:

• Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language

Working Conditions:

• Frequent exposure to foundry like environment (high heat, dust, etc.)
