WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • The Feed Mill Feed Recovery Truck Driver must exercise safe driving practices to ensure their safety and the safety of the general public.
  • The Feed Recovery Truck Driver is responsible for recovering feed that is remaining at the broiler and/or breeder farms once the flock is removed.
  • Loading and unloading the truck according to the established standard operating procedures to prevent cross-contamination of feed products.
  • Communicate with supervisor to get instructions where to deliver feeds that have been recovered.
  • Ensure that the feed recovered was scaled accurately and produce a scale ticket for all feeds recovered and delivered.
  • The Truck Driver must follow the directions of the Supervisor and always maintain accurate paperwork.
  • In case of an accident, the truck driver must immediately contact the Supervisor.
  • The driver is responsible for compliance with DOT safety rules and regulations, all company policies, Local, State and Federal policies, laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Recover feed from broiler and/or breeder farms once flock has been removed
  • Produce an accurate scale ticket for all recovered feed for each individual farm
  • Deliver recovered feed to farms and other destinations as directed by supervisor
  • Produce an accurate scale ticket for all delivered feed for each individual farm
  • Responsible for inspection of equipment before operating equipment each day
  • Complete the required paper work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Follow biosecurity rules and BSE rules
  • Report truck and equipment maintenance issues to the Supervisor
  • Complete written feed recovery/delivery reports


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM...

  • Class A CDL
  • A minimum of one (1) year of verifiable commercial driving experience
  • Preference will be given to drivers with demonstrated top heavy experience
  • A valid medical card
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds and bend/squat to access feed bin access points
  • Must meet all DOT requirements and comply with DOT rules and regulations


THE ENVIRONMENT YOU CAN EXPECT...

  • You'll need to be able to walk, twist, bend and lift various weights, and climb in and out of the trucks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Keep truck and trailer washed and clean
