Report to: Division Operations Manager

Job Brief:

The Area Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient operations of the distribution center. This position will manage all aspects of facility daily operations in accordance with safety procedures.

Leadership:
  1. Promote an environment, behavior, and culture that focuses on fulfilling the mission and core values of Nexus.
  2. Hires and trains all local operations team members.
  3. Organizes and oversees the schedules, territories, and performance of direct reports.
  4. Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  5. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  6. Actively engages their team.
  7. Creates key performance indicators and metrics for the team. Communicates the metrics and ensures each team member knows their role in achieving the metrics. Share results with the team.
  8. Consistently provides feedback to employees and coaches on a daily basis.
  9. Leads change, shares the way, explains the why and the impact, is transparent.
  10. Creates opportunities for the team to collaborate.
  11. Creates opportunities for team members to develop.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Manage daily facility operations at multiple locations to ensure safety, efficiency, and profitability.
  2. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  3. Consistent collaboration with sales team to create operational objectives.
  4. Create and manage operational budget.
  5. Maintain accurate inventory records and properly document movement of all grain and agronomy related products.
  6. Oversees proper storage and quality of all products.
  7. Responsible for proper training and execution of and in and outbound grain grading required by company policies.
  8. Schedule and monitor maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  9. Oversee facility compliance in accordance with OSHA standards.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.


Requirements

Requirements:
  1. Bachelors degree in Agricultural Business or a related field preferred.
  2. Three years of experience in agriculture management preferred.
  3. Exhibits solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Strong mechanical aptitude
  5. Experience in leading safety, process management, and business improvement strategies
  6. Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
