ASST. NURSE MANAGER/ Pulm ID/ Sinai Hospital - Now Hiring

UNIT SUMMARY: The Pulmonary/ID unit is a 37 bed adult med-surg acute care specializing in the management of both chronic ventilator patients and peritoneal dialysis patients. We are the only unit that does peritoneal dialysis in the hospital, and we are the only acute care unit managing vents. In addition, we also manage patients with respiratory issues and infectious diseases. 

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Nurse Manager is a supportive role to the Unit Nurse Manager and staff. This role has 24/7 accountability with a focus on improving and sustaining positive patient outcomes, the patient experience, facilitating patient throughput, staff engagement, operations, fiscal and change management. In addition, it will be a requirement for this individual to maintain basic nursing skills as required by his/her specialty. The individual must demonstrate basic competence in clinical, ethical and legal aspects surrounding the provision of patient care. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assume full oversight and responsibilities for their assigned unit/s. The position is 50% clinical staffing and 50% administration.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field.
• MSN, MS, MA or MBA is preferred.
• 1 year of formal nursing leadership experience if preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience.
• Maryland Registered Nurse License, American Heart Association CPR Certification, PALS will be required after 6 months if applicable, ACLS will be required after 6 months if applicable. Must be a member of a Professional Organization.
