Lab Tech - starting at $16.50/hr
Our client in Catlettsburg, KY is looking for hardworking, motivated talent to join their team. This is a temporary (6-9 mos) position. Don’t wait… apply today!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine testing of a large volume of samples, possibly including process water, crude oil, refined products, and/or renewable feedstocks.
- Prepare samples for distribution, testing, retention, or disposal as appropriate.
- Work in a team environment with other technicians/chemists and under the direction of a lab coordinator, supervisor, or area chemist.
- Meet training expectations; demonstrate competency in lab techniques per standard operating procedures.
- Execute work in a safe and reliable manner.
- Provide timely and accurate data entry of lab results.
- Follow laboratory quality assurance protocols to ensure high data accuracy and precision.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
- Good organizational skills
- Experience with Excel and Microsoft products
- Effective communication skills
- Associate’s degree or higher in the natural or physical sciences
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science field with four Chemistry courses and two Chemistry labs
- Ability to work both independently and with a team. Analytical and reasoning ability.
- Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) experience
