Summary This position is assigned to Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area (LETRA) and is SEASONAL (NTE 30 September 2024). The initial cut-off date for this vacancy announcement is 02/09/2024. Additional applications will be referred as vacancies occur Responsibilities Responsible for life guarding guest in attendance. Responsible for assisting in the conduct of aquatic swimming and water survival training. Assist in coaching or preparing the competitive and non-competitive swimming programs as required. Oversees the work of assigned lifeguards and monitors compliance with facility policies and assists with scheduling of employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must possess or in the process of obtaining the following certificates: - American Red Cross "Lifeguard" certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Certification). - American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer" (CPR-Pro) certification or nationally recognized equivalent (i.e. Ellis & Associates (CPR) Certification). - American Red Cross "Automated External Defibrillator" (AED) certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates AED certification. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
