Job Description

We are seeking a dependable Shipping Clerk to perform various shipping and receiving functions on 1st shift (6:00am start time). Parker Hannifin offers competitive pay with the starting rate for this position currently at $23.22 per hour. Parker Hannifin also offers comprehensive benefits including, but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k/retirement planning benefits, merit increases until reaching top out rates (currently $27.74/hour for this role), and quarterly profit sharing bonus'.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform the required duties in accordance safety guidelines and lean principles by complying with all safety procedures and all company policies
  • Uses various types of powered industrial vehicles and crane systems to move materials.
  • Ensures all materials are labeled, packaged, and shipped in accordance to work instruction / guidelines.
  • Prepares export documents, bills of lading, packing lists, and miscellaneous forms.
  • Uses air and motor freight systems, practices, rates, and the routing, to ensure most practical and economic method of shipment.
  • Facilitates purchases for shipping supplies.
  • Ensures appropriate preparing, expediting, dispatching, picking and loading of shipments.
  • Completes various types of paperwork related to inspections and production reporting.
  • Properly document incoming and outgoing goods or products to work standards.
  • Verify product / quantity and ensures raw parts and materials are stored safely in the proper location.
  • Makes crates, skids, boxes, and prepares products for shipment.
    Understand and facilitate Kanban inventory system accuracy
  • Deals ethically with Parker's customers, suppliers, fellow associates and the general public.
  • Maintains work areas by cleaning and organizing the space and equipment.
  • Actively participates in company-sponsored training programs.
  • Completes additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Previous forklift experience preferred
  • Previous over-head crane/hoist experience preferred
  • Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to multitask and organize work/priorities.
  • Must be able to read tape measure and other measuring devices.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to hear and speak. The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit and use hands to grasp and handle. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 lbs. Specific vision requirements include close vision, ability to focus, and depth perception. This position may be exposed to oils, dirt, fumes and moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
