Information about the Line of Business & the Position

Technical Risk includes all risk property insurance coverage catering to industrial, manufacturing and processing occupancy accounts. DIC Earthquake peril placements is offered for all occupancy accounts. Technical Risk is within C&F's Crum & Forster Insurance Brokers, Inc. (CFIBI) division. CFIBI is a licensed surplus lines broker, CA License # 0E14610.

Account Executive - Technical Risk Underwriting

Primary Location: Anywhere USA

What you will do:

In this position you will be responsible for actively managing a renewal book of manufacturing and DIC earthquake property accounts which includes negotiating renewal terms, managing policy changes and maintaining Company records. In addition, you will service customer needs in a timely manner per Company guidelines. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for risk selection, exposure evaluation, completing pricing tools all while operating within CFIBI's binding authority guidelines to achieve an underwriting profit. In addition, you will prepare accounts for modeling using RMS tools and prepare referrals per the Company guidelines. Quotes, binders and issuing policies per CFIBI's binding authority guidelines will be a key responsibility for this position. Portfolio responsibilities include achieving renewal and loss ratio goals as assigned. Maintaining Surplus Lines Broker Licenses as assigned and continuing education requirements per State guidelines are necessary for this position.

What YOU will bring to C&F:

    Minimum of 5 years' experience underwriting mono-line property accounts.
  • Manuscript, Company and ISO property form experience.
  • Excellent problem solving/decision making skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid customer service and relationship building skills.
  • A proven team player with a drive to succeed.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • College degree (B.S. or B.A.)
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain CA Surplus Lines Broker's license.

What would differentiate you even more:

  • RMS modelling experience.
  • Experience in HPR engineering.
  • Active P&C broker license.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $78,900 to a maximum of $131,500. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee's contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
