Real Estate Finance Associate

Venable LLP's Real Estate Finance Group seeks a midlevel associate with a minimum of four years of experience to join the practice in the Washington, D.C., Baltimore or Tysons office.

The qualified candidate has experience representing borrowers, lenders, and/or government-sponsored enterprises in connection with commercial loan transactions, including experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating loan documents; reviewing, analyzing, and managing legal due diligence (such as organizational documents and ownership structure, title, survey, zoning, leases, and legal opinions); and managing and closing complex commercial real estate transactions. Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and/or other multifamily lenders, and/or syndicated credit facilities is a plus. The ideal candidate has worked on loans secured by multifamily housing, seniors housing, affordable housing, manufactured housing, and/or hotels and is comfortable training and managing junior associates and paralegals. Prior law firm experience required. The successful candidate has excellent oral and written communication skills is detailed oriented and organized and has and an outstanding academic record. Candidates must hold a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction's bar.
