Responsibilities
- Discuss the dental treatment plan with patients and answer any questions they have
- Take vital signs and accurately record medical histories
- Perform preliminary exams, all aspects of dental hygiene, and collect oral health histories
- Evaluate patients for signs of gum disease, cavities, malocclusion, and infection
- Teach good oral hygiene techniques
- Create dental impressions/scans/images/photos
- Take diagnostic x-rays
- Assist dentist during procedures and exams
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and office policies
- Able to travel for CE domestically and abroad
- Participate in team beautification and office upkeep activities
- Be a reliable team member
- Associates Degree from a school certified by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
- Current Virginia Dental Hygienist licensure
- At least 1-2 years of experience in dental hygiene preferred but new graduates welcomed as well
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and all dentistry safety guidelines
- Have a U.S. passport
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
