Network Security Appliance Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Security Appliance Developer with expertise in integrating machine learning models into existing intrusion detection capabilities.
As a key member of the client's dedicated cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing cutting-edge network security solutions that leverage the power of machine learning to detect and mitigate advanced threats.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and design specifications for integrating machine learning models with existing intrusion detection capabilities.
- Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and techniques to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of network security appliances.
- Design and build network security appliances that can efficiently process large volumes of network traffic in real-time while maintaining high performance and low latency.
- Develop robust APIs and interfaces to facilitate the seamless integration of machine learning models into the existing network security infrastructure.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of the developed solutions, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and compatibility across different network environments.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and network security technologies, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement machine learning operations processes, including model training, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
- Utilize network emulators and simulators to replicate real-world network scenarios for testing and validation purposes.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the wider team, and actively participate in knowledge sharing and mentoring activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of network security principles, protocols, and best practices.
- Candidates with a Doctoral degree and no experience are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, with experience in developing network security applications.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and their integration with network security solutions.
- Familiarity with machine learning operations (MLOps) and the deployment of machine learning models at scale.
- Experience with network emulators and simulators (e.g., GNS3, Cisco VIRL) for testing and validation purposes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex network security challenges.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- A passion for staying abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning and network security.
- Please note this is a hybrid position. Day to day work is remote with occasional travel to company offices required.
