Certified Medical Assistant
SITE OF SERVICE:
- Naval Branch Health Clinic Gulfport
- Full Time
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree: Certificate
- Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant Program through Military Training or an accredited program through one of the following:
- Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)
- Certification: Current Medical Assistant Certification through one of the following:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Additional Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience: Possess a minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation.
- U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen.
- English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
- Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.
HOURS:
- Services shall be provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 0700 to 1700.
- Saturday and holidays between the hours of 0730 and 1230. It is anticipated that each Health Care Worker shall provide services every other Saturday and work no more than 5 federal holidays.
- Shifts are generally scheduled for an 8.5 or 9-hour period with an uncompensated 30-to-60-minute meal break, respectively.
- In no instance shall the HCWs provide services in excess of 80 hours per 2-week period.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
