A Production Artist will work to implement creative, unique, and innovative solutions to create production ready artwork. The Production Artist collaborates with multiple team members to develop graphics for apparel images, garment hangtags and logos for apparel clients.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Finds functional, and aesthetically sound design solutions to complex design problems and challenges.
  • Works with Design team to ensure sampling for all graphics are executed in a timely manner.
  • Works with Art Director to adjust art files so that they are correctly uploaded to factories.
  • Tracks a design schedule to ensure a timely completion.
  • Regularly communicates program status and key metrics to the Art Director and VP.
  • Presents well-defined ideas and concepts, to internal staff and clients when necessary.
  • Corrects any issues that may be in the design and make it production friendly.
  • Call out colors and sizing for all graphics.
  • Maintain production files. Package and prepare files for release to factory.
  • Trouble shoot problems as they arise with both the creative team and the factory.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate with Graphic Design and Design team effectively from samples through production.
  • Successful 2-D design skills for the mass/commercial market
  • Strong understanding of current market techniques
  • Proficient in: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Meticulous with color callouts, size accuracies and print techniques.

  • Ability to take criticism positively and willing to be held to a high standard.
  • Always finding new ways to do things and to create interest and excitement for each assignment.
  • Eager to learn and curious about this industry's happenings and the world in general.
  • Focused, being able to work on multiple projects and keep track of deadlines.
  • Flexible, having the ability to be diverted off a project intermittently and be able to return without losing one's place.
  • Organized, being able to consistently remember order of operations but also being able to adapt.
