We are a talented, hardworking group that share values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. geocgi is looking for a talented Jr. SharePoint & IT Specialist to be part of a small dynamic team, assist a DoD client with managing and administering a high visibility SharePoint system. Improve functionality and perform site maintenance. Assist in collecting user requirements, managing User Acceptance Testing, and performing deployments. Create and track all work requests within work tracking system. Provide communication to relevant stakeholders regarding project status and provide a superior level of service. Work closely with project team to plan, design, and build effective SharePoint workflows and elements, advocating for good usability practices and effective use of page templates.

Assist the Sr. SharePoint & IT Specialist with day-to-day operations and SharePoint & IT related tasks. Work closely with other project teams and staff to maintain or improve their specific IT operations. The candidate will execute the responsibilities of a Jr. SharePoint & IT Specialist, which include:

  • Developing and configuring SharePoint solutions to meet business needs.
  • Maintaining and improving existing SharePoint applications.
  • Collaborating with other team members to design user-friendly interfaces.
  • Creating and managing SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and workflows.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving SharePoint-related issues reported by users.
  • Providing technical support for IT systems and networks.
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software components.
  • Performing regular updates to ensure system security.
  • Training staff on new technologies and systems.
  • Documenting any processes which employees need to follow in order to successfully work within our computing system.

The following are requirements of the Jr. SharePoint & IT Specialist:

  • US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a  DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT or related technical field
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in SharePoint design, development and administration
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in an IT administration or Cyber Security role
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain specific job-related certifications
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills, including preparing correspondence, written reports, and briefs.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated experience in completing projects on teams comprised of participants with diverse engineering, scientific or technical backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience in/knowledge of in the use and application of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
