Overview:

What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for a highly motivated individuals to join our world class Avani Spa team! The ideal candidate uses their engaging personality to create a relaxing environment and memorable experiences for our Avani Spa guests. A Fitness Instructors main duty is to lead guests and members safely through the fitness classes scheduled, orientations of the fitness equipment, and/or personal training sessions. Basic knowledge and supporting background for performing fitness classes, fitness assessments and personal training are required. A fitness instructors main job objective should be to motivate, instruct and lead individuals in routine or specialized exercise programs. You may work at various hours throughout the day based on the timing of classes and client availability.

Your Role:

• Greeting clients as they enter the facility and creating a positive experience and tending to their needs during their visit
• Providing clients with tours and information related to the Facility and its features.
• Maintaining updated communication with spa reception team and leaders.
• Keeping the facility and equipment clean, class areas/storage well stocked with necessary items and general equipment maintenance.

Personal Training (Not required, must be certified)

• Individual structured interview.
• Design and develop a personalized comprehensive wellness program to meet the needs and goals established in the consultation.
• Have the client perform actual program from beginning to end.

Teaching any or all the following (Required, must be certified).

• Water Aerobics
• Circuit Training
• Weight Training
• Stretching/Flexibility
• Total Body Toning
• Yoga
• Pilates
• Other classes deemed appropriate by the Spa Director
• Preparation of all music and equipment for classes.

Lectures and Classes outside of the Spa

• May be asked to perform lectures or classes for groups staying in the hotel.

Your Environment:

Varied indoor temperatures including high humidity and warm temperatures in the Atrium pool setting and locker room areas, controlled temperature in most other spa areas, as well as outdoor patio environment. Overall low volume, relaxing environment with calming scents and sounds. Classes may have louder volume due to music, instruction and activity. Standing and walking on hard surface tile flooring, pool deck and carpet - non-slip shoes a must!

What are we looking for?

Were looking for a talented, dedicated, team-oriented Fitness Instructor who enjoys engaging with guests and team members. The right person will be show excellent customer service skills, must be passionate about service and should thoroughly enjoy creating excellent experiences for our customers.

• Certification required (either personal training, yoga, water aerobics and/or group fitness)
• Water Aerobics Certification preferred through ASFA (American Sports & Fitness Association), ACE (American Council on Exercise) or other nationally recognized certification

• First aid and CPR certified (current).
• Lifeguard certification for Aquatic Classes
• Must be physically capable to demonstrate all exercises
• Knowledge of the class or program you teach, including fundamentals...
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules

Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.

Compensation Range:
The compensation for this position is $15.00/Hr. - $15.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
