The City of Worcester is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Driving Range Staff for the Green Hill Golf Course for the Department of Public Works & Parks. Under the direction of the Assistant Golf Professional, the Driving Range Staff shall ensure the range is properly cleaned and stocked with golf balls at all times. This position is part-time seasonal, anticipated as 24-30 hours per week from April through November.

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

• Check range hitting area to ensure it is clean of any trash
• Return golf ball buckets to the vending area
• Move marked hitting areas as needed or determined by the Assistant Professional
• Check and ensure golf balls are clean and the dispensing machine is full
• Check range cart for fuel and inspecting vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to drive a power cart
• Ability to walk bend and pick up golf balls manually
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to move and manage all necessary equipment for the use of the range
• Ability to hand pick perimeter of range and any areas necessary; and other duties associated with the operation of the range.
• Excellent Customer Service and Communication skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• The ability to lift, push or pull up to 20 pounds
• Must be 16 years of age or older

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Flexible schedule with availability to work in early spring and late fall time frames

SALARY: $15.00 hourly, temporary, non-benefitted
