POSITION DESCRIPTION: Directs the coordination of activities for production team leader(s) and team members. Operates and maintains production machinery and associated equipment. Helps identify, trouble shoot, and solve machine issues. Trains new operators and assist with implementing corrective actions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 Oversees the activities of team members engaged in the assembly of parts
 Demonstrate a high level of responsibility and initiative toward your team
 Ensure that all team members are cross-trained among the different operations in the cell and are rotating among jobs specified intervals
 Notifies Production Manager of daily attendance issues with team members and/or temporary employees
 Possess a highly positive attitude and behavior, even in the midst of stressful situations
 Determines priorities and establishes courses of action to meet departmental needs and requirements
 Communicates openly and professionally with Team Leaders and Production Manager
 Responsible for quality control; makes necessary adjustments during the shift to produce products within specification
 Rejects products outside of specification
 Reads and analyzes productions schedules and other records in order to determine production requirements, and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
 Plans and established work assignments and production sequences to meet production goals
 Demonstrates equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new team members and temporary employees
 Ensures that all operations within the cell(s) are running to standard at all times
 Monitors the performance of Team Leaders and provides feedback to the Production Manager
 Assist with troubleshooting problems within the cell and informs the Production Manager if additional help is needed
 Perform minor repairs to equipment and makes adjustments as required by the Engineering or Maintenance department
 Ensure that team members adhere to designated start and stop times during each assigned shift
 Relieve Team Leaders, as needed
 Adhere to and administer all company policies pertaining to each team member’s job
 Coordinate production startups, shutdowns and changeovers
 Conduct performance reviews for Team Leaders, team members and temporary employees
 Wears all required personal protection equipment (PPE) and adheres to the safety policy
 Maintains prompt, regular attendance
 Perform other duties as directed by the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
 Able to read and write English
 Possesses basic math skills
 An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
 Previous supervisory or management experience
 Excellent communication skills
 Must be able distinguish (by sight, sound, touch, or other senses) whether his/her machine is operating correctly or is in a proper state of repair.
 Able to work in extreme temperatures and humid environments.
 Flexible to work extended hours and weekends.
 Able to follow through and complete assigned tasks.
 Team oriented.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and equipment. The employee may also be exposed to electrical shock when working with electrical components.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (80-90 decibels). The manufacturing area is not climate controlled and temperatures vary from 50 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit depending on outside conditions.
