Style Crest, Inc. is a 50-year-old distributor and manufacturer of innovative building products for the residential and manufactured housing markets. We have an excellent career opportunity available for a Tool & Die Machinist to join our operation. This position will maintains the tooling for the Vinyl department by performing the following duties.

  • Sets tooling into production equipment insuring proper setup and operation.
  • Evaluates vinyl tooling in need of repair and coordinates with outside vendors for repairs as needed.
  • Receives repaired tooling when returned and ensures it was properly fixed. Tracks tooling repairs to evaluate turn around time and cost.
  • Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
  • Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
  • Sets up and operates lathes, mills, and grinders to machine parts.
  • Fabricate assemblies for production machinery from various materials to include sheet metal, structural steel, and bar stocks.
  • Examine standard or previously used dies, tool, jigs, fixtures and, machinery components and recommends design changes.
  • General maintenance to include plumbing, machine repair, general diagnostics, pneumatics, hydraulics, rigging, and facilities maintenance.
  • Performs good housekeeping skills to maintain a clean and safe working area.
  • Performs activities in accordance with the procedures outlined in the work instructions.


Requirements

  • Associates degree from a college or technical school / Journeymen’s card in machine related technologies; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
