Responsibilities of a Cook:

• Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils.
• Cook and package batches of food for consumption according to Department of Human Services Regulation and Safe Serv.
• Cook the exact number of items ordered by each resident, working on several different orders simultaneously.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared.
• Mix ingredients such as pancake or waffle batters.
• Operate large-volume cooking equipment.
• Prepare and serve beverages such as coffee and drinks.
• Prepare specialty foods as per the menu and diet.
• Assist residents in specialty food items of food choice when the menu does not meet their liking.
• Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
• Wash, cut and prepare foods designated for cooking.
• Clean, stock and restock workstations and cooking utensils.
• Order and take delivery of supplies.
• Serve orders to residents at tables or in rooms.
• Take food and drink orders and receive payment from family members.
• All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities of an Evening Cook:

• Serve food at noon.
• Assist in clean up.
• Wrap silverware.
• Stocking
• 2PM Snack Time: Take cart out and go to rooms and give out snack for residents.
• Clean up tables, wiping them down daily and cleaning off chairs.

Requirements of a Cook:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Physically lift 25 pounds.
• Must be able to read directions.
