KITCHEN STEWARD

POSITION PROFILE: Performs a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks in support of the chef and kitchen team to insure the highest levels of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen. Using prescribed checklists maintain all assigned areas in a clean and organized manner for both routine and deep cleanings per schedule. Assists team members with other tasks as needed. Strives to model the Pursell Farms core values in the completion of their work.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:

• Carry out routine cleaning duties as assigned and per checklist schedules including dishes, equipment and surfaces
• Identifies and uses the correct solutions, chemicals and products for the appropriate tasks
• Checks all assigned equipment daily to ensure it is in good working order. Reports any problems to supervisor
• Cleans stoves, grills, refrigerators and other equipment per schedule and as needed. Clean counter tops, vents, walls and all other surfaces
• Washes utensils that do not go into washer by hand, such as large pots and trays.
• Scrapes rinses, loads and runs dishwasher for dishware, glassware and cutlery. Unload after completed cycle and store all items in their assigned place
• Polishes serving pieces and equipment as needed
• Replaces any supplies to their assigned location
• Identifies, sorts and clears trash and food leftovers per protocol such as vegetable and fruit peelings for composting. Removes all trash to assigned dumpster at end of shift.
• Assists in restocking shelves when orders are received
• Routinely sweep floors to keep free of debris and mop floors at end of shift or as requested
• Assists serving team if requested
• Performs other tasks as assignedDESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education:

• High school graduate or GED preferred
• Prior experience working in a professional kitchen preferred
• Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to understand and follow detailed directions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to move, lift, transfer or carry up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
• Initiative to help team members as needed
• Agile and able to move quickly and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing
• Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
