BOOST serves the federal contracting community in the areas of accounting, contracts, HR, recruiting and strategic pricing. We serve only GovCons, so you must have tons of experience in this area. This position will be both client facing doing delivery but also internally strategic in that you will interact with multiple divisions and levels within our organization. You absolutely must be a team player who thrives off working collaboratively and must know how to herd the cats. You’ll want to figure out solutions to hard problems for our clients. You’ll actively mentor some of the more junior folks on our accounting team. You’ll provide guidance on policies and procedures. You’ll help our clients in their strategic planning. You’ll help price out must-win bids for our clients. You’ll work on annual budgets, presentations to boards of advisors, DCAA submissions and access to capital. Heck, you may even help sell a client or two! Your position is constantly evolving and does not have a set of rules of engagement. And if that appeals to you, you may be a great fit.

This is a full-time, fully-remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide executive strategic advice and support to client CEOs

  • Brief boards of advisors where applicable

  • Serve in a leadership capacity for growing GovCons and help advise and counsel on their growth

  • Financial review and strategic analysis

  • Pricing strategy, pricing analysis, and cost volume book boss

  • Bank compliance, reporting and interaction

  • Support and lead any and all audit readiness efforts

  • Forward pricing, direct and indirect cost budget creation, monitoring/analysis

  • Indirect rate monitoring, rate adjustments, intercompany allocations

  • Supervise and review the monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements including an eye for cash flow projections, indirect rate analysis, what-if scenarios, and profitability focus

  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

  • Oversee general ledger operations

  • Coordinate and prepare regulatory reporting as needed

  • Directing internal controls for all clients as assigned

  • Recommend improvements to ensure the integrity of a company’s financial information

  • Overseeing financial systems implementations and upgrades

  • Write policies and procedures that are client specific, align BOOST internal policies and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DCAA, GAAP and CAS requirements

  • DCAA Liaison where required

  • Training and retaining skilled accounting and finance staff

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA required

  • 15+ years of experience in finance/accounting, in?government contracts for multiple type contracts

  • A deep knowledge of FASB and GAAP

  • Advanced knowledge of CAS, FAR, and DFARs

  • Hands on consulting experience with a proven, service-focused, and proactive consultative style (We are here to help our clients grow. This is about our clients, not one person.)

  • Expertise and understanding of all accounting and financial transactions to include cost review, reconciliation of accounts, and adjustments

  • Proficiency in using a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft office tools and web-based tools

Personal Requirements

  • Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills with the ability to proactively manage a variety of projects and timelines

  • Ability to quickly adapt and keep your cool while working with multiple personalities and conflicting deadlines

Work Authorization Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship

  • Candidate must be in the Washington, DC area for occasional on-site requirements

  • Ability to pass both a background and credit check

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Masters in Accounting/Finance
